Freshly Painted!

I arrived back from New Orleans last night and woke up this morning to a freshly painted house. You may not see a huge difference in the pictures but it sure looks nice in person. Cheers.

Oklahoma City National Memorial

I find myself in Oklahoma City for a couple days this week and wandered over to the National Memorial honoring the victims, survivors, rescuers, and others affected the morning of April 19, 1995. It is amazing how something so tragic in our recent past so easily can slip from our minds. It is very clear to me that it will never slip from the minds of those families, friends, an co-workers who lost loved ones that morning. Yet more amazing to me is the fact that we have since had a national tradegy even more devasting than this. Here are a couple pictures that I snapped tonight. Unfortunately I did not have my tripod with me so the clarity isn't quite what I would have desired to have. Let me know what you think.

This is a shallow reflecting pool with gently flowing water to help soothe the wounds, with calming sounds for a peaceful setting for quiet thoughts.

On this Gate is the time 9:01 reprenting the innocence of the city before the attack.

This is the entrance to the memorial from the east side.

This is the field of empty chairs. It is 168 chairs arranged in 9 rows representing the the nine floors of the building and each chair bears the name of the individuals who perished on that floor. Nineteen smaller chairs represent the children whose lives we also taken.

I understand this isn't the tone of a typical post on my blog. As I started to post some of the photos I thought of those of you that hopefully get an occasional smile from my page. That is my goal, but this time I have have strayed from that. Peace. -Chad

Howdy ya'll
It's been a while. I just got back from a two week business trip to California and tried to capture a couple images while in San Francisco. Some of you may recognize this bridge. The name of it slips my mind but it was such a pretty bridge I decided to take a couple photos. If you can help me out with the name leave a comment please.

Hello to all that wander along and find this or are directed here. This is my new attempt a peeking into the world of blogging. It's that peer pressure thing. Everyone is doing it. Well... I'm joining in. I won't likely have regular updates. I won't likely have amusing stories. I won't likely have amazing photography. I will likely have fun. When you stop by, be sure to leave me a comment. Don't be one of those people that look and leave. Tell me you were here and say hello. Don't you just hate it when you get a call a week after someone was in your town. The conversations are often like this, "Hey Chad, I was in Atlanta last week and thought of you. I was just passing through and thought you would be busy so I didn't bother calling." Anyhow, I'll post this first post and see what kind of commitment I can make to keeping this blog updated. Cheers.
